Hi, my name is David, and I’m from a lovely town called Blackburn in the north of England.
Before moving to Russia, I studied Russian language at the University of Manchester, and graduated with a First Class degree. As part of this degree, I had to spend 2 terms studying in Russia, and ever since, I have thought of Russia as a second home. After graduating, I came back to Saint-Petersburg, and began working as an English teacher in Benedict School.
Now, I’ve been working and living in Russia for 11 years. I’ve worked with students of all ages and levels, and I try to centre each lesson around the students and their needs.
Having studied Russian for 8 years, I understand that learning a foreign language is not always easy. I’d like to think that this helps me understand how my students feel! I always try to be as positive as possible, encouraging students, and making sure that they are not afraid to speak English.
